Who is Bob Stephen ?
The Revd Dr Robert Stephen BA BD MTh (Oxon) FRSA FRSH FSA Scot ACertPW
‘Dr Bob’ was born in Aberdeen and lived in the north-east corner of Scotland until travelling to London to study theology in 1982.
Leaving college in 1985 Bob was ordained as a Baptist Minister and served an Assistantship at Vernon Baptist Church, Kings Cross (where the train left from for Aberdeen!). After 2 years he was moved into a redundant church building in Stoke Newington to start a Church. The Church grew and then had to plant another congregation at Stamford Hill.
Bob was called to Hinckley in 1993 to be Baptist Minister. Leaving the Baptist ministry in 1997, Bob found his way to St Catherine’s, was licensed as a Reader in 2001, made Deacon at Petertide 2004 and ordained Priest in 2005.
A teacher, Dr Bob works at Henry VIII School in Coventry, and fits Church duties around school commitments. Married to Penny, together they have 8 children and are Directors of Penny Price Aromatherapy Ltd..
Hobbies include music, particularly playing the organ, and anything to do with food or wine. He is devoted pipe smoker and a passionate advocate of single malt whiskey. Watch out for announcements of the ‘Burn’s Supper’ – an opportunity for him to develop his role as a missionary of Scot’s culture.
