MAY FAYRE

The sun did shine. It did not rain. We had an excellent May Fayre on Saturday, 3 rd May at 2.00 pm, immediately after the 1.00 pm wedding. The space around the back of the Church in front of the extension entrance was attractive and sheltered. We wondered whether customers would see us, but they did and many came. There was a variety of stalls, games and teas for all ages. We had a good number of helpers. The Church realised £1,400 from just two hours in the afternoon. Hard work for many but well worth it. Many thanks to all who helped and supported.

FUTURE EVENTS

We are hoping to organise a series of events throughout the rest of the year. Whilst some have yet to be planned, some are already arranged. These are listed below. Please note that there have been some changes of dates.

20 th June Rector's Ball at 7.30 pm at Hinckley Golf Club

19 th July Great British Evening at 7.30 pm in Church Extension

20 th September Sixties Concert at 7.30 pm in Church and Extension

27 th September Green Fayre and Gift Day from 10.00 am in Church

8 th November Songs from the Shows and War at 7.30 pm in Church

23 rd November Parish Lunch at 12.30 pm in Extension

29 th November Christmas Fayre from 10.00 am in Church

31 st December New Year's Eve Party at 8.00 pm in Extension

S ave O ur S pire

The response to our appeal for £40,000 towards essential repairs to the Church Spire and Tower is encouraging. We have also had a number of grants and further applications are pending. However, we still have some way to go. Further donations or events in aid of the SOS appeal would be most welcome.
